Cherai Tails relies entirely on donations from kind individuals. Please see below the ways you can support us.
Sterilisation
A one-off donation of 6000rs or £60 pays for one dog to be neutered or spayed with five days of aftercare. Without this, one female dog and her offspring can produce 67,000 puppies in 6 years - many of which will only know starvation and suffering. This is the most important gift you can give.
Skin & Tick
Medication
A one-off donation of 2000rs or £20 buys one Bravecto tablet, which is very effective in removing Ticks, Fleas and other parasites for 3 months. Due to our humid environment and malnutrition, many strays are suffering from skin issues and are in desperate need of Bravecto and other supplementary medication.
Food
1000rs or £10 pays for nutritious food for all of the dogs in our care for 2 days. The street dogs of Cherai Beach, many of whom we have known for years now, are given high-protein homecooked meals delivered by an experienced auto driver.
Vaccinations
500rs or £5 covers a multi-vaccine for one dog for one year. Each of our insiders, as well as all the sterilised street dogs, needs an annual multi-vaccine and rabies vaccine and the number of dogs we cater for is
growing all the time. We are lucky to have the help of a vet nurse who travels to carry out the vaccines in situ.
